Mandatory Summer Food Service Program Sponsor Training for All Sponsors

REGISTER AHEAD FOR ALL SFSP TRANING WEBINARS.  SPACE IS LIMITED TO 1,000 PARTICIPANTS. IF EVENTS ARE FULL, CHILD NUTRITION WILL OFFER A SECOND SESSION.

Sponsor training is mandatory for all experienced and potential new Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) sponsors. The New York State Education Department (SED) will offer separate training webinars for experienced sponsors and potential new sponsors. Please register for the webinar at the links below. Again, attendance at the webinar is mandatory if you plan to operate in the SFSP in the 2021 summer.

Training webinars will provide a comprehensive overview of program administration and operations as well as recent changes that will take effect this year.  SED suggests more than one person from your organization attend training in order to obtain all relevant information. Additionally, you should be reviewing how you plan to operate during the 2021 summer. Food service management company representatives, nutrition advocates, Department of Health officials and other persons interested in learning about the program are encouraged to attend.

A live webinar designed specifically for experienced sponsoring organizations will be conducted on April 22, 2021 at 1pm and covers new USDA memos and an overview of program guidance and reminders. Sponsoring organizations that operated in 2019 but did not operate on 2020 should attend this webinar.

A two-part live webinar designed specifically for potential new SFSP sponsors will be conducted on April 21 and 28, 2021. Attendance at both parts is required. The first part to be conducted on April 21, 2021 will address basic administrative program requirements and the program application process. The second part conducted on April 28, 2021 will address operational requirements of the program.
