SY 2022-2023 Direct Certification (DC) Data Unavailable Beginning 7/15/2023

As of July 15th, School Food Authorities (SFAs) will no longer have access to SY 2022-2023 direct certification (DC) data within the New York State Student Identification System (NYSSIS) so that SY 2023-2024 data can be loaded and made available. All SFAs are encouraged to conduct a final match of directly certified students for SY 2022-2023 before July 15th.

SFA’s Applying to Participate in Community Eligibility Provision for the 2023-2024 School Year

The deadline to apply for the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for SY 2023-2024 has been extended to August 31, 2023. Those intending to apply for CEP must conduct DC matching on their April 1, 2023 enrollment prior to July 15th in order to use the correct school year data on the CEP application.

Future Changes to CEP Eligibility

USDA is expected to finalize rules to lower the eligibility criteria for CEP participation. Absent this rule and additional guidance from USDA, it is not known what process or procedures will be used to establish CEP participation after the August 31st deadline.  Therefore, SFAs should retain DC data from SY 2022-2023 in the event that data is needed in the future.
