This waiver would allow school food authorities using standard counting and claiming methods in their federal school meals programs to apply student eligibility determinations from the 2023-2024 school year for the first 60 operating days of the 2024-2025 school year. The waiver is necessary to prevent any interruption in free meal benefits for eligible students while the state direct certification matching system undergoes unanticipated maintenance.
