2020 SFSP Sponsors to be Reviewed

The New York State Education Department (SED) review process is required by Part 7 CFR, Section 225 of the Federal regulations for sponsors administering the SFSP. The objective of the review process is to ensure program compliance through the evaluation of the sponsor’s program operations by observing site operations and conducting a fiscal audit of the SFSP administration. SED reviews all SFSP sponsors a minimum of once every three years. The list of experienced sponsors to be reviewed can be accessed from the following link 2020 Sponsors to be Reviewed. All new sponsoring organizations will also be reviewed by SED in 2020.

Please note that SED reserves the right to conduct additional reviews, either announced or unannounced, for any irregularities and/or to verify corrective action was completed and applied to all sites under the jurisdiction of the sponsor, as appropriate.

Sponsor records shall be retained for a period of three years after submission of the final Claim for Reimbursement for the fiscal year to which they pertain, except that if audit findings have not been resolved, the records shall be retained beyond the three year period as long as required for resolution of the issues raised by the audit.  These records must be readily retrievable or immediately available upon request.
