JAMESTOWN AREA YMCA RECEIVES 

2025 NO KID HUNGRY COMMUNITY PARTNER AWARD

May 8, 2025 – Last night, No Kid Hungry New York presented the Jamestown Area YMCA with the 2025 No Kid Hungry Community Partner Award in recognition of their work fighting childhood hunger in the state of New York. 
The Jamestown Area YMCA’s partnership with No Kid Hungry New York has provided thousands of grab-and-go and non-congregate meals to local children, serving over 38,000 meals in 2024 alone. They also consistently share their knowledge, experience and tools with communities across the country to help other nonprofits establish similar programs. 

“The Jamestown Area YMCA exemplifies what it means to be a true partner in the fight against childhood hunger,” said Rachel Sabella, director of No Kid Hungry New York. “Their dedication to ensuring every child has access to healthy meals has made the difference for thousands of families in Western New York. We are so proud to honor them with the 2025 No Kid Hungry Community Partner Award and are grateful for their unwavering commitment to building a stronger, healthier future for kids in the Jamestown community.” 

The Jamestown Area YMCA, founded in 1858, is the oldest nonprofit in Chautauqua County and has a long history of supporting youth and families. Since 2019, the Jamestown Area YMCA received more than $80,000 in grants from No Kid Hungry New York to help expand the reach of their summer meals program. Grant funds have helped the YMCA purchase delivery vans and kitchen equipment needed to prepare, package and deliver meals, as well as assist with costs to staff multiple meal sites and promote the expanding program.

To file a program discrimination complaint, complete the USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form, AD-3027, found online at How to File a Program Discrimination Complaint and at any USDA office or write a letter addressed to USDA and provide in the letter all of the information requested in the form.
