Child Nutrition State Payments Reductions

As instructed by the New York State Division of Budget (DOB), the New York State Education Department (NYSED) will be reducing some Child Nutrition reimbursement claims by 20%. The DOB directive affects State reimbursement payments only. Federal reimbursement payments will remain at 100%.

To identify a reduced claim, please refer to the Invoice Number of the payment.

  • The first five alphanumeric characters identify the claim month, i.e. “Jun20” indicates the claim month is June 2020.
  • The three alphabetic characters identify the funding source and program, i.e. “SBR” indicates a State Breakfast payment.
  • The final five alphanumeric characters indicate the percentage paid, i.e. “80PCT” indicates that this payment is 80% of the amount claimed.

Instructions on identifying a reduced claim can be found here.  If you have any questions, please contact your Child Nutrition Program Representative.
