Two Months Left to Submit HUSSC Applications to SED - Applications Must Be Submitted to SED by June 30, 2018

The USDA Food and Nutrition Service will be completing the HealthierUS School Challenge: Smarter Lunchrooms (HUSSC: SL) Award Program, effective December 31, 2018. There are a few key dates to keep in mind:

  • June 30, 2018: All applications are due to State agencies.
  • July 1, 2018: USDA will no longer accept HUSSC applications for review.
  • By December 31, 2018: The USDA National Office will do a final review and announce the final set of awards.

Please visit Team Nutrition’s HUSSC website (https://www.fns.usda.gov/hussc/healthierus-school-challenge-smarter-lunchrooms) for more information about the phase-out, as well as other helpful information for schools that are in the process of applying, those that have submitted applications, and those that have received awards.

To file a program discrimination complaint, complete the USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form, AD-3027, found online at How to File a Program Discrimination Complaint and at any USDA office or write a letter addressed to USDA and provide in the letter all of the information requested in the form. To request a copy of the complaint form, call (866) 632-9992. Submit your completed form or letter to USDA by:
