Child Nutrition Waiver Update: Effective Beginning July 1, 2021

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has released a Child Nutrition Waiver Update memo announcing extensions of needed flexibilities for summer 2021 operations for the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), and the NSLP Seamless Summer Option (SSO).

The New York State Education Department (SED) has elected the use of these Nationwide waiver flexibilities provided by the USDA.  Please note that the current waivers are in effect through June 30, 2021 and that the waivers listed below are effective beginning July 1, 2021:

These waivers pertain specifically to summer meals.  Please continue to check this website for additional guidance.

USDA Nondiscrimination Statement

Additionally, program information may be made available in languages other than English.

To file a program discrimination complaint, complete the USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form, AD-3027, found online at How to File a Program Discrimination Complaint and at any USDA office or write a letter addressed to USDA and provide in the letter all of the information requested in the form. To request a copy of the complaint form, call (866) 632-9992. Submit your completed form or letter to USDA by:
